Understanding Facelift Procedures

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a sophisticated surgical procedure designed to address facial aging by treating sagging cheeks, jowls, and neck skin. The goal is to restore a more youthful and refreshed appearance through customized surgical techniques.

Personalized Facelift Approaches

RenewalMD understands that each patient's facial structure is unique. Our approach includes multiple potential techniques:

  • Short-scar mini-facelift
  • Traditional skin-only facelift
  • Corset neck lift
  • SMAS lift for sagging jowl correction

Surgical Procedure Details

Facelift procedures typically involve general anesthesia and take three to six hours. Strategic incisions are carefully planned along natural skin creases to minimize visible scarring.

Surgical Technique Highlights

  • Incisions placed around ear, ear lobe, and scalp
  • Small chin incision for comprehensive neck contouring
  • Excess fat removal
  • Neck muscle tightening
  • Skin re-draping for natural results

Recovery and Expectations

Post-surgical recovery involves wearing an elastic garment for three to six weeks to control swelling. Patients are advised to limit social interactions during initial healing to support optimal results.

Recovery Timeline

  • Dressing removed day after surgery
  • Sutures typically removed within 1-2 weeks
  • Social restrictions for 3-6 weeks

Giving a 2 cause while my surgery went smoothly i developed an infection i booked an appointment only to be told when i arrived that dr. Shanklin was no longer with that practise. I got no call before hand about him leaving. Saw some Russian woman who instructed me to put medical honey on it. It made it worse went to er put on antibiotics an was told not to return an find a general surgeon that was local. Ended up returning to the er after the weekend my infection was worse. I'm now on yet another antibiotic. It's still not looking any better. My advice stay away from Renewal MD now that Dr. Shanklin has left. I was really fighting not to give this a 1 star review but while shanklin was with them i felt welcome and not at all uncomfortable. Last time i was there i felt like i was being judged an i didnt feel welcome or comfortable at all.
