Understanding Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is a complex plastic surgery procedure designed to correct issues resulting from a previous nose surgery. This intricate procedure requires exceptional surgical skills and precision to address aesthetic and functional concerns from an initial rhinoplasty.

Why Revision Rhinoplasty is Necessary

National medical statistics indicate approximately 15% of patients undergo a secondary rhinoplasty to achieve their desired results. The revision procedure involves addressing both initial aesthetic problems and complications created during the first surgery.

Key Considerations for Revision Rhinoplasty

  • More complex than primary rhinoplasty
  • Requires advanced surgical techniques
  • May involve cartilage grafts from ears or ribs
  • Addresses structural and aesthetic concerns

Dr. Keith Hurvitz: Revision Rhinoplasty Specialist

Dr. Keith Hurvitz is a board-certified plastic surgeon with advanced training and extensive experience in nasal surgery. He specializes in revision rhinoplasty for patients throughout Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Beverly Hills, Torrance, South Bay, and Orange County.

Surgical Approach

Successful revision rhinoplasty requires a comprehensive evaluation of the nose's previous surgical modifications. Dr. Hurvitz carefully assesses initial aesthetic problems and surgical changes to develop a personalized corrective strategy.

Candidate Evaluation

Candidates for revision rhinoplasty typically have unresolved aesthetic or functional issues from a previous nose surgery. A comprehensive consultation with Dr. Hurvitz will determine individual surgical candidacy and potential outcomes.

Procedure Details

  • Performed under general or local anesthesia
  • Outpatient surgical procedure
  • Approximately one-week recovery period
  • Potential use of cartilage grafts for structural support

Recovery and Expectations

Recovery typically involves mild bruising and swelling lasting approximately seven days. Internal and external splints are removed within one week, allowing patients to return to normal activities.

Potential Recovery Experiences

  • Mild nasal congestion
  • Temporary bruising
  • Minimal surgical site discharge
  • Gradual nasal refinement

Cost Considerations

Revision rhinoplasty costs vary based on individual surgical complexity and treatment goals. A personalized consultation with Dr. Hurvitz will provide detailed pricing information tailored to specific patient needs.

Dr. Keith A. Hurvitz is an amazing doctor. I went to him last October and had liposuction an a tummy tuck and went back to him this July and had a breast reduction and lift, and I couldn't be happier with both procedures. The office is also amazing. Would highly recommend him.

The work was good, Great even. But had some issues getting covered for the medical portion by my insurance company and their PARTNER surgical center Optum aka Healthcare Partners did some whacko stuffike tries calling me the day of surgery with a huge bill after i paid in cash all they asked fir that morning i thought it was a scam. but that's a different business technically although they will host ur surgery depending on each client I suppose. and overall this is a good small business and a great doctor, i think anyone would say the work they did for me was priceless, i wil upload photos later Beware of billing and make sure to get an idea for what u will be paying if ins urance doesnt cover it cuz that very welll can happen

I went to Dr. Hurvitz because I was dissatisfied with the post-cancer breast reconstruction done by another plastic surgeon. Despite being adamant that I wanted to remain the same size, I ended up being a cup and a half larger. After trying to accept this distortion of a new body for two years, I just couldn't take it. So I saw Dr. Hurvitz. He listened, was caring and compassionate, and did such a beautiful job. I feel like I have my old body back. Thank you, Dr. Hurvitz!
