Understanding Arm Lift Surgery in Miami

Multiple factors contribute to upper arm skin sagging, including hereditary predisposition, natural aging, and weight fluctuations. These changes can cause excess skin and fat accumulation, often leading to self-consciousness about arm appearance.

Arm Lift Candidacy

Arm lift (brachioplasty) is a body contouring procedure designed to remove excess skin and create a more toned, youthful upper arm contour. Ideal candidates are individuals who:

  • Have sagging or hanging skin in the upper arm region
  • Are in good physical and psychological health
  • Maintain realistic expectations about surgical outcomes

Surgical Procedure Details

Dr. Bernabe Vazquez performs arm lift surgery with meticulous attention to detail. The procedure typically involves strategic incision placement, often on the inner arm, to minimize visible scarring. Depending on individual needs, Dr. Vazquez may use curved or z-shaped incisions to optimize aesthetic results.

Surgical Technique

During the procedure, Dr. Vazquez will:

  • Make precise incisions along the upper arm
  • Remove excess skin and tissue
  • Potentially use liposuction to eliminate stubborn fat deposits
  • Carefully close incisions to promote optimal healing

Recovery and Expectations

Recovery from arm lift surgery involves mild bruising and swelling during the initial week. Patients are advised to elevate their arms and avoid strenuous activities. Most individuals can return to normal routines within one to two weeks, with full recovery taking several weeks.

Important Considerations

Patients should understand that arm lift surgery will result in some visible scarring. While scars may remain prominent for nine to twelve months, most patients find the long-term aesthetic benefits outweigh surgical marks.

The surgeon’s hand was shaking in a way that reminded me to my father in law’s Parkinson’s. If I hadn’t insisted that there was a stitch left when I went to get my stitches out, he would have missed it. - I went to Dr Vazquez in 2023

I had my breast implants done in 1997 and they just get better. I’m supposed to have them done every 10 years I’m not touching them. Like I said, I had this done in 1997. This was 26 years ago!!! I was very happy with everything from the very beginning to the very end and all the way up until now. This DOC IS THE BEST!!!!
